Alaska Digestive and Liver Disease is pleased to announce that Austin T. Nelson, MD will be joining the practice of Dr. Ronald B. Boisen, Dr. Daryl M. McClendon, and Dr. Jeffrey W. Molloy on August 5, 2019. Dr. Nelson is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah and his medical degree from Uniformed Services University at the campus of National Institutes of Health and Walter Reed Military Medical Center. He is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association. He served for 17 years in the United States Air Force and 5 years as chief of the department of gastroenterology at the 673rd Medical Group, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson prior to his transition to private practice. He enjoys all aspects of Gastroenterology and Liver care and understands the complexities and challenges that long-term gastrointestinal disorders can cause. He is committed to providing compassionate and cutting-edge medical care. Growing up in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, he developed a passion for the outdoors. This passion ultimately led him to Alaska where he enjoys all that it provides. His wife and five children keep him busy with their many activities and hobbies.


Martin P. Kaszubowski, M.D.

Martin Kaszubowski, M.D.

Dr. Kaszubowski is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California Los Angeles and his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. After completing his Transitional Medicine Internship at Bethesda, Maryland, he completed an Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Kaszubowski has served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. During this time he was stationed at several bases across the country and served two tours in Afghanistan as a Flight Surgeon with Combat Search and Rescue. In 2014, he transitioned to practice gastroenterology at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson with the 673rd Medical Group and became the chief of Gastroenterology in 2018.

Dr. Kaszubowski is passionate and dedicated to high-quality medical care for patients with all types of digestive and liver disorders. He has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel and liver disease. Although he is originally from Southern California, he has become an enthusiastic Alaskan outdoor adventurer and enjoys spending his time hiking and photographing the natural beauty of Alaska with his wife and two sons.
